Redesign a room

AI interior design from a photo of your own room

Pinterest shows you beautiful rooms that aren't yours. Decorous shows you your room, with your windows, your floor and your awkward corner, redone in a new style. Take a photo, pick a style, and see it in seconds.

The same living room redesigned in a warm Japandi style: a light sofa, wooden armchairs, a flat-screen TV on a low console, plants, a paper pendant lamp and a jute rug. A dated living room with brown sofas, a recliner, an old TV cabinet, lace curtains and a shag carpet.
Real Decorous output. Redesign, same windows and layout.

19 styles to try

Modern Farmhouse, Mid Century Modern, Scandinavian, Japanese, Boho, Minimalist, Industrial, Rustic, Contemporary, Bauhaus, Eclectic, Traditional, Neoclassical, Shabby Chic, Southwestern, Mediterranean, Art Deco, Cottagecore and Steampunk. Add a color palette, like Soft Beiges, Deep Blues or Terracotta & Sage, or leave it on Surprise Me.

It works on living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, bathrooms, home offices, dorm rooms and entryways. For the outside of the house, use Curb appeal and Backyard, which have their own styles.

Choose how much changes

Then change one thing at a time

A result is a starting point. Type what you want under Change something: "make the sofa green", "add a large plant", "swap the rug for a jute one". Only that part changes. Undo edit goes back a step, and Try another style redoes the whole room in a different style from the same photo.

Stuck on what to do with a room? The Advice tab lets you ask about your photo, like which colors would warm it up or how to arrange the seating.

A Decorous redesign result on iPhone, with Save, Share, Undo edit and New photo buttons, a row of styles, and the Change something text box.

Getting a good result

What AI interior design can't do

The furniture in a result is generated, not picked from a store, so you won't find that exact sofa. Sizes are a good guess, not a measurement. Treat a redesign as a picture of the idea, then shop and measure for the real thing. If you're selling, use virtual staging or Declutter instead, which are made for listing photos.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes, Decorous is free to download, and you can try it on your own room straight away. No account needed.

How much of the room changes?

You choose. Refresh keeps your layout and furniture placement and updates the look, Makeover designs the room from scratch with a new layout, and Bold goes for a dramatic transformation. Paint walls changes just the wall color.

Can I change one thing about the result?

Yes. Type what you want under Change something, like "make the sofa green" or "add a large plant", and only that changes. Undo edit takes it back.

Can it tell me where to buy the furniture?

No. The furniture in a result is generated, not taken from a catalog, so it's for ideas, not a shopping list. The Advice tab can talk through your photo and suggest what to look for.
